On Wednesday 4 September, ESco held its first-ever AI Immersion Day—a company-wide initiative designed to spark ideas, foster collaboration, and explore how AI can be used to solve real challenges across the business.

The day was led by Rob Green, Director of Product and Transformation—and affectionately known as ESco’s in-house AI guru. Rob championed the event with a clear mission: to get everyone thinking creatively about the potential of AI and how it can be harnessed to make our work more efficient, impactful, and innovative. From customer support chatbots, to sense-checking data and reports, to using predictive analytics for smarter decision-making, the possibilities are exciting and wide-reaching.

It’s really here to enhance our work, not to replace us. It can take our repetitive and mundane tasks away, and allow us to focus on the more creative, strategic and complex aspects of our roles.

The AI Immersion Day wasn’t just for the tech team—it was open to everyone at ESco, regardless of department or technical background. In the lead-up to the event, a video was shared with staff to demystify AI and explain how it’s already transforming industries. The goal was to inspire everyone to look at their own daily tasks and think: how could AI make this easier?

From that foundation, the day became a hub of ideas and collaboration, as teams across ESco came together to brainstorm and present real use cases where AI could make a difference. Staff submitted ideas beforehand and then built on them in dedicated sessions throughout the day.

One standout contributor was Andrew Marling, Customer Service Executive, who impressed everyone with his deep understanding of our clients, his innovative thinking, and his passion for using AI to enhance customer service.

Also playing a key role was Edward Caswell, IT Data Technician—and proud AI optimist—who helped ensure the day ran smoothly and was engaging for all staff. His clarity, enthusiasm, and support throughout the sessions were widely praised.

AI Immersion Day marks just the beginning of ESco’s journey into AI. With the excitement and momentum sparked by the event, it’s clear that the entire team is ready to embrace this powerful technology—not just as a tool, but as a way to reimagine how we work and what we can achieve together.
