ESco proudly sponsors the PPA Festival 2023
On Tuesday 25th April 2023, a team from ESco headed over to The Brewery in London; a brand-new venue for The PPA Festival 2023. In attendance was Sue, Louise, John, Alistair and Megan, who were joined by former Account Manager and friend of ESco, Andy Gale.
After a delicious breakfast, the day was kick-started by Sajeeda Merali, who spoke about her first full year as CEO at the PPA and mapped out the order of play for what was set to be a fantastic day. With over eighty speakers in a jam-packed agenda that spread across four stages, there was plenty of ground to be covered.
Over the course of the festival, there were five networking breaks to offer attendees a chance to connect over coffee, discuss trending topics of the day and, for sponsors such as ESco, showcase their business to new friends in the industry who visited our stand.
Our team attended a variety of engaging talks which covered a selection of topics, including TikTok’s influence on the publishing landscape, the key to building long-lasting subscriber relationships and the truth about AI and publishing.
At 12:40, we had the pleasure of attending a brilliant roundtable session, “Reimagining subscriptions as memberships”, led by our friend John Diston, Head of Client Services B2C: Subscriptions at Air Business. During the session, John led in-depth discussions surrounding the time constraints of the comfort-blanket term ‘subscription’, the benefits of focusing on ongoing ‘memberships’ and how we can address these barriers to change consumer perception.
The festival was rounded off with a few closing remarks from Sajeeda before everyone returned to the networking lounge to celebrate the success of the day with a few drinks and canapes.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the PPA for yet another fantastic event. It was truly an honour to be a sponsor of another brilliant PPA Festival and we look forward to attending the next PPA event, the PPA Awards 2023, in June.
